Just in time for the 2012 Olympic Games, GE and London’s City Hall will retrofit the lighting on Tower Bridge. The state-of-the-art, energy-efficient lighting system will have energy savings of 40-45% in energy savings over the current artistic lighting fixtures.

The installation will utilize GE’s Tetra Contour Cable lighting, an alternative to neon lighting, and energy-efficient LEDs and floodlights to illuminate and showcase the towers of the bridge.

“Not only will the new lights reduce carbon and energy costs, they will also enhance this global icon’s architectural features at night,” GE writes.
