Elon Musk is a gamer from way back — his early love of computer games led him to programming, which led to Zip2, PayPal, and Tesla. So it wasn’t too surprising to see the introduction of the Tesla Arcade, which allows Tesla owners to play a variety of video games on the cars’ screens, even using the steering wheel as a controller.
Tesla China delivered a big surprise box at the HKRI Taikoo Hui Shopping Mall in Shanghai. When opened, a one-of-a-kind Tesla was unveiled showcasing a version of the Model 3 featured in Game For Peace (Chinese version of PUBG) — a mobile multiplayer battle royale game developed and published by PUBG Corporation.
Someone has gone and created a simple little Tesla video game in which you can walk around, watch videos about Tesla, talk to a Tesla-loving “CyberGirl,” click through to Tesla.com using the game creator’s referral code link, listen to cyber Elon Musk and Franz Holzhausen relay some useful statements that real Elon and Franz made, and more. My favorite part is zipping into the sky for a good view of the city on a definite non-Tesla vehicle.
As I noted in my prior article, when I wrote the first article in this series, I intended to take a quick historical look at one industry and then move on to diving into some of today’s automakers to see what risk the EV revolution had to their business. I still do intend to do that, but the comments in the first article pointing out flaws with the Kodak comparison made me want to do some further dives into historical industry disruptions.
Elon Musk appeared today at E3 (a video game conference) in a talk with Todd Howard and Geoff Keighley. While a lot of the conversation was about games and science topics, like faster than light travel and dark matter, some of it was about Tesla.
