A new charging corridor connects EV drivers in Northern California’s Bay Area to the popular Lake Tahoe region in the Sierra Nevadas with a network of high speed DC Fast Chargers. The completion of the charging corridor was announced this morning in partnership with EVgo, when the last two stations in the Drive The ARC system were brought online.
It’s widely known that California is the center of US electric vehicle adoption. California leads the country in terms of overall electric vehicle (EV) sales as well as EV market share of new vehicle sales. It’s also where Tesla was born and where nearly every US EV startup pops up.
But there are other states that are also well ahead of the US average for EV market share … and they’re basically all in the west.
The Obama administration has been on a role advancing EV charging across the US. The latest news from the administration is that the United State Department of Transportation (DOT) is establishing 48 national electric vehicle charging corridors. Thank you, President Obama, and we hope you and Michelle will be driving in an all-electric vehicle soon as well.
