A few days ago, I wrote an article about the top 5 countries in terms of plugin vehicle market share. In response to that article, one reader, “No way” (I have a feeling that’s not his/her real name), requested a graph and article on countries aspiring to 10% plugin vehicle market share.
I recently published a report on the top 5 countries in terms of plugin vehicle market share (percentage of their auto sales coming from plugin vehicle sales). Underneath that article, some readers requested that I do a report focused only on fully electric vehicles. I thought that was a good idea, so here’s a report on that topic.
In Belgium in March, auto sales were down a whopping 48%, but plug-in vehicle sales were up 39%! In the first quarter of the year, plug-in vehicle sales were up 91%. No rounding error.
Just after publishing Maarten’s superb article on the electric vehicle explosion coming to Europe in 2019, I got word of the Glovis Captain arriving into Port of Zeebrugge in Belgium. I threw some tweets about this into the bottom of Maarten’s article, but given how long Europeans have patiently waited for their Model 3s, it seemed the news deserved its own headline.
