The Solana utility-scale concentrating solar power (CSP) project, capable of storing solar-generated electricity and delivering it in the evenings and at night in order to help meet peak demand, is 80% complete. A workforce of more than 2,000 is on site installing Solana's 32,000 parabolic trough solar energy collectors, one of a range of benefits the project has brought to the Pheonix area

With Spain and the EU in the midst of an economic and financial crisis, geographic diversification has been a key to Abengoa's continued success. To be one of the largest solar PV projects in the US, the 200-MW Imperial Valley solar PV facility will generate hundreds of local jobs and avoid 63,000 tons of CO2 emissions, as well as clean, renewable electricity.
