Tesla Model 3 Owner Drives For Uber & Lyft In Kentucky — #CleanTechnica Interview

Andy Slye is a videographer/filmmaker and Uber driver who lives in Louisville, Kentucky. He doesn’t drive a Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, or Ford Escape, though — his vehicle is a fully electric Tesla Model 3. As far as he knows, his Tesla is the only one of its kind being used as an Uber vehicle in his area. You can see how some of his passengers react to riding in it in a video he made, a video that actually got retweeted by Tesla and Elon Musk last week (after we interviewed Andy). Below are Andy’s answers to questions we asked about the Model 3 and his experience with it in Kentucky.

City Of Aspen, Colorado, Tries Transportation Alternatives

In order to reduce congestion, the city of Aspen, Colorado, is employing a city mobility lab to study traffic patterns and trial an app called Miles to encourage less driving. The goal is to try to decrease the number of cars coming into the town each day by 800. The mobility lab is named Shift, and Ashley Perl, the lab’s project director, answered some questions for CleanTechnica.

Is Bird A Boon Or Burden To Urban Communities?

Bird, the electric scooter startup, has raised $418 million and has been valued at $2 billion. It has been reported that it was the fastest startup to achieve ‘unicorn’ status. One of the investors is Sequoia Capital, and Roelof Botha, a partner there, said he sees San Francisco one day having 10,000 Bird scooters, potentially earning $70 million a year in revenues.
