Tesla Gigafactory Drone Flyover (Video)

I’m sure that you’ve repeatedly heard about how massive Tesla’s currently-under-construction Gigafactory is, about how much money is going into creating it, and about how huge battery production capacity will be; but without actually seeing it, it’s hard to wrap your head around the scale.
And, as I’ve yet to actually see the Gigafactory in person myself, I can’t even offer you my personal description of the facility. Thankfully, someone recently decided to address this dearth of understanding by taking (and providing us with) a new video showcasing the project — obtained via the use of a remote-controlled ‘drone’ (quadcopter).
The above video really brings it all home, doesn’t it? It wasn’t all that long ago that the Gigafactory was just an idea on paper (and/or in Elon Musk’s head), and now here we are, with an arguably game-changing manufacturing facility getting closer to completion by the day.
Here’s a bit of information from the video poster’s page on YouTube:
The first 4k ultra-high-definition video of the Tesla Gigafactory. Located 15 minutes east of Reno, Nevada, the Gigafactory is growing at a steady pace and helping fuel the strong economic recovery in Northern Nevada.
To ensure safety this video was recorded while no workers were present and from over 1 mile away with a DJI Phantom 3 Professional Drone utilizing GPS. The drone was in constant visual contact as well as maintaining an altitude of not more than 400 feet above ground level.
To add some further context, with regard to the size of the Gigafactory as compared to other “recognizable” structures, I present you with the image below (by redditor jonjiv). More comparisons can be found here.
As a final note… the video has some pretty nice music, doesn’t it? Sort of fits with the whole “Terminator” vibe that Musk and Tesla seem to be cultivating (unintentionally, I presume).
