The newest way to see Sydney, Australia is onboard an electric GoCycle as part of a guided tour from Blue Bananas. To date, their guests have traveled more than 2,200 kilometers from the Sydney Opera House to Mrs. McQuarrie’s Chair on the shores of Sydney Harbor.

The company’s website proclaims: “Our guided electric bike tours are an exciting way to experience Sydney. We will show you the best sights Sydney has to offer with one of our warm and friendly local guides. We’ll provide everything you need for the ride and our groups are kept small so that you get the attention you deserve!”

Electric bikeBlue Banana uses Gocycle electric bicycles that have such features as electronic shifting, integrated dashboard display, torque sensing for the pedals, hydraulic brakes, lithium battery power and multiple user-cycling modes. Power up hills with ease or just roll along using good old fashioned pedal power. It’s up to you.

Andrew Kaiser of La Jolla, California went on a Blue Bananas tour of the city recently and had this to say about the experience: “Touring the city on an electric bike allowed us to get up close and cover more area in a short amount of time. The electric assist on the bicycle eliminated the effort on hills, so we arrived at each stop without a struggle. Our guide, Steven, gave us background information on each site and answered all of our travel questions — even if they had nothing to do with where we were.

Tour groups are limited to a maximum of 6 people to ensure everyone gets personal attention along the way. The Bike the Bridge tour lasts 90 minutes and takes you across the iconic Sydney Harbor Bridge to the tranquil suburbs of North Sydney like Kiribili, Neutral Bay and Mosman. The Sydney City Tour is 2 1/2 hours long and leads you through Darling Harbor and the lush Public Gardens. Prices start at $59.

Whatever your age or physical condition, a Blue Banana bike tour of Sydney is a great way to see this beautiful city up close and personal.
