The Canadian homebuilder LIV Communities has become the first in the country to feature a Panasonic Residential Solar PV + Energy Storage Solution in a show home, according to a new announcement from Panasonic Eco Solutions Canada.
The new solar + storage system from Panasonic will be offered as an upgrade to homeowners looking to go solar in LIV’s Casablanca: The Grand Collection in Brampton, Ontario, community. As well as to homeowners in the company’s Classics and Casablanca communities in the same city.
“Panasonic’s installation of an energy management system in LIV Communities marks the next phase in residential solar energy and an industry-leading step forward in sustainable housing,” stated Walter Buzzelli, Managing Director at Panasonic Eco Solutions Canada. “As we continue to roll out projects with LIV Communities, we are excited for homeowners to realize the benefits of investing in solar and energy management technology.”
Solar Power World Online provides more: “The Panasonic Residential Solar PV + Energy Storage System installation is one of the first net-metering projects of its kind for Brampton Hydro One. Net-metering allows customers who generate their own electricity from solar power to feed excess power back into the grid. The battery system can store electricity for backup power during a grid outage.”
The Panasonic solar PV modules are paired with a 10 kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium-ion battery system featuring Panasonic batteries and a hybrid inverter.
