Editor’s Note: Sister site Gas2 has gotten a great anonymous tip from a Tesla Motors insider — a longer Tesla Model S is reportedly in the works. Seems to be a gift from China. While estimates are that a longer Tesla Model S could show up by the end of the year, that’s not at all certain. Tesla has a lot on its plate right now. Read on for more details from Chris.

    I find it interesting that several reviewing mags have mentioned the lack of head room in the back seat. I’m just wondering if this is an attempt to remedy it.

    I guess there are alot of 6ft+ chinese with too much money to burn. That demographic is surreal to me.

    The Model S would look rather absurdly large as a convertible, I think the Gen 3 skateboard will afford a much better proportioned convertible and wouldn’t be surprised to see it become the basis for a a Tesla Roadster v2
