1888475_10151964852168775_1775083966_nThe American Wind Energy Association is celebrating Valentine’s Day week with some social media fun. Using Twitter and Facebook, AWEA is asking for pictures from fans of wind power.

Using its Facebook page and Twitter account, AWEA is asking for images using the hashtag #iheartwind, depicting your love for wind; whether it be a selfie at a wind farm, using the hashtag in front of some wind turbines (like the image below) or something else entirely, it’s time to get out there and celebrate one of the cleanest forms of energy.

Iberdrola_Example_iheartwindThe idea apparently sprung from Iberdrola Renewables, which ran its own #iheartwind campaign (which provided the image on the right). A couple of other examples since the week kicked off are available above and below.

Of course, AWEA will be joining in the fun, and it will also be using some of its favorite #iheartwind tweets.

“We’ll be re-tweeting, liking, and even posting our own pictures showing why we love wind power throughout the week. On Friday, we’ll post a blog showcasing some of our favorite pictures from throughout the week for everyone to see. We’ll show as many of these pictures as possible on the big screen at WINDPOWER14 in Las Vegas, May 5-8,” AWEA wrote on its blog, Into the Wind.
