Elon Musk is no stranger to the CleanTechnica audience. Our Elon Musk tag includes 76 articles. The man made billions as a co-founder of PayPal, then went on to invest that in startups Tesla Motors and SpaceX. In this cleantech space that we cover, he has completely flipped perceptions of electric cars through the creation of the Tesla Roadster and the Tesla Model S.

The Model S has been named the best car available to the mass market by most of the top auto journalism world. It got Consumer Reports‘ best rating ever (99/100) and recently topped Consumer Reports‘ customer satisfaction ratings. It also got the highest safety rating ever from the NHTSA. The list goes on and on.

Beyond those three startups, Elon is also the Chairman of SolarCity, the #1 full service solar company in the US.

I have a feeling Elon has trouble getting a full night’s sleep.

Anyway, for these reasons and more, Elon was recently named the #1 most influential man in the world by the UK’s AskMen. Head on over to AskMen to read its short write-up of the innovating cleantech entrepreneur.
