Isn’t the Bond submarine a piece of the British national heritage and it’s a crime or something to vandalise it?
The Bond producers (a small family business in London) are pretty good at spotting tech trends so I would not be surprised if your speculation has legs. I did suggest to Foro Energy, who are developing high-power laser drilling for geothermal use – >50kw down >1km of fibre – , that they contact the Bond people, Reviving Goldfinger’s laser cutter would be a nice retro touch.
