"Stella completed the 3,000 kilometer journey from Darwin to Adelaide using nothing but the energy of the Sun"

Not so, alas.

The entrants in the cruiser class were allowed to recharge their 15 kWh battery packs from the grid. And they did. How much electricity they used form the grid apparently affected the final score, so using as much solar as possible improves your chances of winning.

And here I was thinking that Sunswift's eVe of the of the University of New South Wales was the winner in that class. I suppose I confused the fact that it was the first across the finish line who was first with regards to total score. Looks like I have a correction to make. But I'm not at all surprised that Stella won. She's an excellent vehicle designed, built, and run by an excellent team.
