Granted, you will likely never be able to buy an $845,000 Porsche 918 Spyder plug-in hybrid sports car (well, maybe some of you can, but most of us can’t), but you can now have some one configuring one online.

Stephen Edelstein of Green Car Reports writes:

Wannabe Porsche owners can try out different wheels and interior trim packages.

There are also a few options, including a fire extinguisher, to evaluate. Oh, and 918 buyers can pick their cars up at the factory in Germany if desired.

The Porsche 918 Spyder costs nearly $1 million for a few reasons. For one thing, the car is… fast. It recently broke the famous Nurburgring lap record. Despite its notable horsepower, as a plug-in hybrid electric car, it is also quite efficient. It reportedly has a rating of 78 mpg. More details on the Porsche 918 Spyder plug-in sports car can be found here or here.
