While some otologists (ear physiologists) suggest that sound from outside and inside the body travel different physiological channels, and so question conclusions such as those made in this paper, I think it's important to stress that this article addresses largely-inaudible infrasound. Wind turbines' audible sound is clearly much louder than a heartbeat! (or a penny dropping, re: Martin here)

The source level of large (300-450 foot) turbines is over a hundred decibels; roughly similar to a leafblower, and since the sound is far above the ground, it travels well: they are often clearly audible out to around a half-mile, and faintly audible at greater distances at times. Granted, they are rarely objectively "loud" at distances where people live, but they can be the loudest sound in a rural soundscape (especially at night). Some people don't mind the additional sound in their local environment, while others are more bothered by it; this is the root of the controversies around some wind farms.

The first part of the claim sounds entirely plausible
