Can you provide more details on the electric motors provisions of the bill? As you know, electric motor-driven systems are the single largest consumers of electricity in the world (8.4 billion kWh). They account for half the power consumed in the U.S. They produce about 20% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions (6 gigatonnes). I'd kinda like to know what kind of dent this bill will make those numbers.

Thanks

Don't worry about it, Sid. We'll run out of NG soon enough.

Make sure you salt away enough money so that you'll be OK when your industry collapses out from under you.

Did you notice that everything stated is about electricity energy efficiency. What makes the electricity? Natural gas and coal (being converted to natural gas)

Natural gas heats the buildings where we work and go to school. Natural gas is used to produce steels and glass and plastics and textiles and petrochemicals. Natural gas is used to process our foods and beverages and pharmaceuticals. Natural gas is used to produce heat and steam and hot water to produce and process almost everything we consume daily.

Where is Increasing natural gas energy efficiency in this Shaheen-Portman bill, and how many more jobs can be created increasing this energies Energy Efficiency?

What's great about better regulation (codes) that save money is that when consumers see how good technology is already, they are surprised at the difference between the present and the past. They are excited about progress, and support further improvements in regulations. Voters actually become supporters of improving regulation, and there is less despair at government, more belief it can be improved upon rather a self-destructive belief that the only solution is that it be completely destroyed.
