At the upcoming 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Toyota stand will stand out in a rather subtle way, it will consist only of hybrid vehicles.

One of the vehicles on display will be the 3-door Yaris Hybrid-R concept, which it will showcase as a hybrid that maximizes performance and driving pleasure. This concept car consists of two electric motors and a 1.6 litre Global Race Engine (GRE) developed by Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG).

The Yaris Hybrid-R concept will store energy obtained from regenerative braking in supercapacitors (ultracapacitors), as supercapacitors can accept very large currents quickly and easily. They can also discharge it very quickly (i.e., they are powerful).
