The ‘per mile’ cost of driving an EV is already quite a bit less than driving the most efficient ICEV. Making the difference larger would drive EV sales.

But what will turn the new car market around is longer range (~180 miles) and lower purchase price (<$4,000 higher for same model ICEV).
