Do you really need that much engineers once the basic technology and manufacturing plants and their retooling have been completed? Newer designs are handled by R&D, and you dont need that much engineers. You dont demolish and rebuild manufacturing plants every time you finalize a new model for production. Too many engineers will keep cost of production up and there will be no economies of scale and the prices of these cars would remain high. Very few talented engineers are key to excellent designs. Having more will not help. But i'd rather have more engineers rather than company executives.
