So that could well all be Michigan in one gallon, meaning nothing’s been cleaned up.
If dilbit does settle in the sediment then I have severe doubts on the cleaning process.
Meaning future tar sands spills will likely to be un-cleanable.

When you spill a gallon, it’s all dilbit. When you clean a gallon, some of it is dilbit, and some is Michigan.

Why does this article say an estimated 883,000 gallons of oil was spilled and then say they’ve recovered 1.15 million gallons9 plus about 165,000 gallons they expect to leave in the river) and they aren’t even finished with the clean-up ? Arithmetic doesn’t verify.
