I'm sorry, but I personally think the idea of a vehicle making any kind of noise at all (outside of unavoidable air and road hiss) is a travesty. City noise levels are already way to high, and I believe that street vehicles should be kept to very strict standards. We now have the technology to make cars and bikes remarkably quiet. So what do we do? We introduce artificial sound to them! Crazy.

Even on good days I get quite annoyed by all the motorbike and large truck noise where I live, but this week has been the worst. There was a large annual 2-day Obon festival in my neighborhood, with fireworks and unbelievable crowds, and afterwards for the last two nights the bōsōzoku bike gangs were running up and down the streets making an ungodly amount of noise. It was annoying enough to make me almost want to find someone responsible and commit unspeakable violence against them (;~)

Back in the middle of the previous century I had a 45 with "Sounds of a Corvette".

Hung my speakers out the dorm window, cranked up the dial to 11, bounced it off the two story brick wall of the auditorium, and had the local police scrambling to find the speeder who was terrorizing the campus.

Could fit up a sound track like that to a LEAF if noise is what it is all about....
