Well, not everyone has the advantage of a Queensland education. We’ve had television for over 30 years. And as a result we know that San Francisco is the place where there is always a car chase where the vehicles do jumps on a series of steep hills and the tram line always loses control. (I’d really get that fixed if I was San Francisco.) And Los Angeles is the place where all the men except lawyers and cops wear scarves on their heads and walk around like Watson missing his friend saying, “Holmes!” and “Holmesboy!”

Not sure with your criticism. HSR is many times more efficient and cost-effective than business as usual / expanding the highway system (where people move around in vehicles and spaces many times their size emitting all sorts of fun pollutants… and all the while unable to do much of anything productive, unlike on a train).

So we have a green group who never cares where the money comes from making “pie-in-the-sky” projections based on who knows what. submitted to build the first 30-mile construction segment from Madera to
Fresno. The bid came in below the authority’s estimated cost of $1.2
billion to $1.4 billion.”
