I like how the article points out that it is the banks, particularly, the US set up Import/Export bank.

It goes to show how a country's capacity to produce solar, wind, etc can be blunted, against even it's own interests by international bankers.

This is another aspect of the problem Bill Still points out in his You Tube post #85, an interview with Israeli TV and his movie The Money Masters.

The Indian manufacturers' lobby is not very strong when compared to other sectors like IT or petroleum as a result they have no option but to shutdown or cut production.

The international manufacturers, especially those from the US and China, have succeeded because development banks of these countries have provided loans (at 3-4%) compared to Indian lenders (which provide finance at 12-13%).

In Europe and the US the protectionist lobbying by solar manufacturers has been balanced to some extent by the many installers who benefit from cheaper imported modules. Is there any similar movement in India?

Brazil, which has similarly protectionist instincts, seems to have found a compromise, helped by strategic loss-leading investments by foreign manufacturers in football stadium roofs.
