Coal is also dangerous, whats your point? That’s a little bit saying rape is bad but murder is worse so we should just oppose murder and not worry about rape.

That is such a tired, old, worn out argument.

The issue is not nuclear or coal.

The task at hand is rebuilding our grids with the cheapest, safest, fastest to install generation technology. The ones that give us the least expensive electricity, don’t create nasty messes or blow up in our faces, and are usable for the next few billion years.

That turns out to be a mixture of renewable energy sources.

Both coal and nuclear are being left behind in the 20th Century.
