		<description><![CDATA[The technology they are studying is known as &lt;a&gt;EGS&lt;/a&gt; - Enhanced Geothermal Systems. The Basel fiasco was an early false start; nobody now would try to create an EGS reservoir (involving thousands of microshocks) under a city which suffered a major earthquake in historical times (1356). Even in Switzerland, there is plenty of near-empty countryside. It&#039;s good that a top technological institution like ETH is going for EGS.
