Yes, I&#039;ve seen over 20% quoted, for 30-40 metres, and when installation costs are included it totals up to 40%. 

Some time ago, before turbines got so big, £1m was the figure for repairing a rotor at sea, reflecting the problems of installation and O&amp;M. 

But floating wind farms will only save costs by dumping the HAWT design and developing cheaper, more robust VAWTs for offshore use instead. So, £15m for R&amp;D is to be welcomed, but it&#039;s still peanuts and it&#039;s being mis-directed.]]></description>
