#1- 1st use is in the car, 2nd as grid storage or something, then recycled. not clear what the confusion is?
#2- a semi-colon can have different purposes. it can be used with conjunctions for some of those uses. for example, here, it is used because there are commas used in other parts of the sentence, but that doesn’t mean there’s a need to drop the conjunction.
#3- conjunction before “they can be recycled” — huh? i think you’re reading this whole thing wrong, but unclear why. if that were a stand-alone sentence, it would say, “After their 2nd life, they can be recycled.”

They don’t go into a landfill.” – So they are only used once in the car? Then once more before being recycled (I know this isn’t the case, but that’s how it reads). Also, you can’t use a “;” and a conjunction (and). There’s a missing conjunction before “they can be recycled.” and no transition into the next, very basic sentence that feels rather out of place. Also, if you fix the first two issues, that sentence becomes a run-on. Should be something like “Also, after their first life powering electric vehicles, the batteries can be re-purposed and do not go directly to landfills. In fact, these batteries are actually fully recyclable and should never end up in a landfill!”
