“Discover The Stories Behind Wind Energy” — 2013 Photo Competition With Cash Prizes
A global wind energy photo competition — “Discover the Stories Behind Wind Energy” — has just been launched by the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) and the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC). The first prize will be a €1,000 voucher. The final deadline for competition submissions is May 5th 2013.
The photo competition was created to show that wind energy is much more than just a technology. There are countless people whose lives have been influenced or changed by wind energy, whether from a self-made wind turbine in an African village or a wind farm in Denmark. The competition creators know that many people have a story that they can share with just a photo and some text.
“The first prize winner will receive a 1,000 Euro voucher. Second prizes of 250 Euros will be awarded by region. The winning photographs will be displayed in the European Parliament in Brussels in June. They will also be published in the renewable energy newspaper ‘Recharge’ and EWEA’s magazine ‘Wind Directions’.”

The winners of the competition are set to be announced during Global Wind Day, on June 15th. “The worldwide day ‘to discover the power of wind energy’ that occurs annually with several hundred events, exhibitions, open wind farms and local activities organised in about 40 countries all around the globe, as well as online actions.”
