That is why there are electrical codes that require built in ground fault and arc fault protection. If you are afraid of an electrical fire from a solar panel installation than you have misplaced fear. You would be better served worrying about how close your curling irons and toasters are to the sink, if you have worn cords lying on the floor, and if you have tested your GFCI outlets (once a month per manufacturers recommendations).

Most electronic engineers agree on this point that grid tied system are not safe at high voltage leading to the solar panels catch on fire. Germany three years ago reported high voltage solar arrays cause a number of house fires their however there has been no resolution to stop the high voltage braking down the solar cells 1.2v leading to hot spots in the solar panel.
