The oil lobby is gunning for the volt, pure and simple. Luckily the volt has proven to be bullet proof, so they can't attack it on the engineering side, but expect a continuing street fight from the well funded naysayers. The real question is when will the public wise up and connect the dots. Lets start by asking chevron why it donated $2.5 million to naysayers like the NLPC?

The werewolf fears the silver bullet less than chevron fears the volt and its kin...

It is shame, but sales could have been about 3,000 higher for the year. When GM had to suspend the plant in mid August->mid Sept for retooling, it caused a MASSIVE drop in inventory that tanked November sales by about half. December sales came back strong, but were still about 1,000 below where they would have been with sufficient inventory. And now with the holiday break, with inventory critically low, January will be a lost worse than December. For example, the LA market, one of the biggest for the Volt, is LESS than 1/3 full. At peak, the LA market had over 300 cars within a 30 mile range. How many today? 65! GM is NOT supplying the hot markets with the Volts necessary.

My 1 year Volt ownership cost summary is here:
