Tina,

"This is not just an ‘environmental’ issue; it is a moral issue and a matter of life and death.”
A truer sentence has seldom been written. With the, long predicted, reality of methane now emanating from the arctic oceans and permafrost we are now confronted with the real possibility of an extinction event not seen in 252 million years. (http://arctic-news.blogspot.co.uk/p/global-extinction-within-one-human.html )
The author states that a method exists {removing methane from the atmosphere with radio waves by converting it to nano-diamonds} to slow down the process but it will take some doing.

None the less, maybe Senator Kerry's being Secretary of State will help to see that action is taken. The situation is far more severe than most folks realize. Professor McPherson sums it up in a presentation here. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ina16XSJQvM)
