Tipping has occurred. This is a good thing.

The job of transitioning our energy generation from fossil fuels to renewables is an enormous task. It will require large scale businesses to get the job done. If wind has reached a point at which Republicans are backing it then it's clear that there is money to be made and installation rates will climb.

As more wind generation comes on line natural gas plants will cease being 'always on' and will get used for fill-in. Coal will get shoved off the grid.

We're likely only a few years away from solar being cheap enough to get a share of Republican love. I suspect that's already happening at the residential level.

Now, if tidal would only quickly mature so that we could plop some generation into the Gulf Stream....
