Ecovillage? Not even close. Nothing eco about this development at all. Tons of concrete. Non permeable asphalt. Exposed power lines. Non green material used everywhere in construction. This was a top down ecovillage, driven by the local government in cohoots with the biggest local general contractor. What they consider eco is that each lot must have and use a small vegetable plot. That's it. No mandatory solar panels or graywater systems. It's an eye sore and a waste of public money. I know because I live here and I was in on the beginning, but got turned off by the bureaucratic take over of the design process.
