Debunking Ryan’s Clean Energy Lies

Print Friendly

If there’s one thing that has typified the Romney/Ryan ticket, it has been lies. Romney’s statements in his first debate with Obama were full of lies, including clean energy lies of all sorts (all in all, fact-checkers seem to have found Romney spouted 27 myths in 35 minutes). Ryan kept the misinformation flowing regarding hugely popular clean energy in the Vice Presidential candidate debate last week, as this repost from Red, Green, and Blue notes:

Debate: Ryan doubles down on Romney’s green energy lies. (via Red Green & Blue)

Well, that was a nice comeback. After a disappointing debate last week that left Obama on the ropes and Romney with a bit of a surge, the Vice Presidential debate featured strong performances by both candidates. Just as he did in his speech to the Republican Convention, Paul Ryan strayed rather far…

Actually, there enough lies on both sides to make us want to rethink the bipartisan thing in the first place…and what is with the ineffective questioning about virtually all the issues….no one really nails either side hard enough….if these candidates can’t hold up a poster of their bucket list, they don’t derserve to be taken seriously..period, end of story…….let’s see your commitments in writing…..words are cheap….and they seldom come to fruition……people deserve someone they can count on…not a circus barker

elections in the US are ridiculous. it’s set up like a sporting event. the uninformed way in which we elect our leaders is truly sad.

I think it should be pointed out that Congressman Ryan asked for stimulus money only after the bill had passed. Why wouldn’t he ask for money that was already set aside to be distributed? If the government set aside money to give to states would you want your rep to not ask for some?

      Come on…

Just like Bobby Jindal talking about the evil of the stimulus and afterwards posing with an oversized check for the stimulus money that came to LA.

      Can you say hypocrite?

$700 billion: Stimulus during the tiny recession under G. W. Bush, championed and voted for by Paul Ryan.

$800 billion: Stimulus under Obama during greatest downturn since the Great Depression, hated by Paul Ryan.

Either Ryan is not explaining himself very well, or he’s got no beliefs other than “the other party is always wrong”. This type of thinking is why America is in trouble.

that is the sad approach of the GOP today. it is not to solve problems, but to say whatever is needed in order to say “the other party is wrong.”
