That presentation from DTE energy makes a number of dishonest claims which call their overall arguments into question:

They assume a typical wind turbine will be 1.6MW in 2025.

The flatly state there will be no elimination of need for base load generation.

They attribute job losses in wind to over capacity rather than the impending withdrawal of PTCs.

Thing is, they will figure out that wind is a cheaper source than natural gas. Corporations look at how much other corporations are spending for stuff and how much money they are making.

And when they do figure it out they will already have a lot of dispatchable NG capacity build which can be used to fill in for variable wind.

To bad utilities in MI think otherwise. They’d rather sell gas because they’re MI and stuck in the stone ages.
