Zach, I’m not sure if it’s the new comments system or you being away but there seemed to be an uptick in the numbers of clean energy haters while you were away. Possibly one less person to fight them off?

And yes, I completely agree — the biggest hurdles soon, if not already, are with regards to consumer attitudes (and ability to do math). This is essentially what we are trying to help with here at CleanTechnica. Could probably do a much better job.

Have an article planned on some super low solar prices in NJ (installed price). Hope to light a bit of a fire with that one.

Where are you based? Maybe we could get you to put a piece (or some numbers for a piece) together for us.

Is that $3.35/W all inclusive? Does it cover permits, inspections, etc.?

Hi Zach….hope vacation was as you wanted……
At the first of the year, my company decided to do as many as 10 residential solar jobs, per month, between our utility scale projects…..and at only with a very small upcharge for them being small and less time efficient.
We offer our residential customers an average per watt price of $3.35 while virtually everyone else is charging $4 to $5.50.
This means that even without an SREC, the system is positive cash flow from the very first month.
It’s really funny though, how some people just can’t comprehend how it all comes down. And having even a large well established company like ours putting the performance specs in writing based on 10 yrs of historical weather, somertimes doesn’t even help.
Our industry is plagued by the general consumer attitude from used car lots….hahaha…well, and some slippery renewable power companies to, I guess….lol.
What’s your take on this matter?

Hi Zachary:

I usually chime in on stories but there will only be a few comments from me between now and the election. With local elections, state elections and federal elections, it takes time to study the candidates. That takes a lot of my retirement time which may cause a temporary dip in both the quality and quantity of my comments.

This may also be affecting others but as usual that is only a guess, LOL.
