Luxury electric car maker Tesla is not exactly struggling, they are sold out until May 2013. If you nail it in terms of performance, handling and especially range, there seem to be more than enough people willing and able to buy a $50,000+ electric vehicle. I expect BMW to make their vehicles as good or even better than Tesla and their established name enables them to charge a premium price for it. 

The sales model of BMW is a copy of what Tesla is doing with quite a bit of success.

I wouldn&#039;t be surprised if BMW forged an alliance with Tesla for their customers to gain access to the Tesla superchargers. By the time BMW starts selling their ev&#039;s, their customers will find a network of fast chargers waiting for them.
