Thanks a lot, Dick!

That's exactly what we aim for, glad to see that's what you (and presumably others) are getting out of it! :D

And this was one of my favorite stories in a long time. :D

I put more of the doom and gloom over on Planetsave, but actually focus less on that over there. I think that is important too, but I think you need a lot more focus on the positive solutions we have available to us, the great examples of people making a change, and the fun stories showing what amazing things we can create.

Anyway,... thanks again! Made my day, seriously. :D

Hi Zach, I like this story because it is a positive news story. People create what they think about. I like this story because it has a good message, the message is that older people can install solar regardless of whether or not they expect to live long enough to reap the pay back. Also, I like it because we learn by example. This story gives a great example!
Cleantechina is one of my favorite sites, and one of the first I look at when I log in to the www. For the most part your stories are positive and upbeat. They leave me feeling good about the world, and better educated. You are doing a GREAT job and I do appreciate all the hard work and long hours you put in to bring people these great stories.

Keep up the good work, I think you are on to something here, I hope you continue to attract critical thinkers, and people who believe we can make the world a better place for all of us!

Warm regards,

Dick

Thanks.. will keep that in mind :D

You mean the story and/or how it was presented? I spend a lot more time delving into the human side of things than normal in this specific article.

Here in Australia the majority of retired people currently receive a government pension and so it can make a lot of financial sense for them to install solar as it's an investment that saves money without without causing a reduction in pension payments as a financial investment can. As a solar system can pay for itself in under seven years few retirees will kick the bucket before they see a return and even if they do most are interested in leaving behind something for the next generation, so they are not losing anything by dropping dead early. Except, you know, their lives.
