T. Lester, I wasn't trying to trash the idea. Just wondering about the difference between clear and gray/red. I wasn't trying to compare the cost to the UV blockers I already have, just pointing out that many people already have "grayed" they windows so having a gray, even dark tinted one would be no problem. At a good cost point many more people could put these up.

Nope. Noone ever told you about shades? Me thinks I smell someone who likes to play devil's advocate or just a blatant exceptionalist (excuse inventor)/ grumpy smurf.
Right, because all articles must contain all related info in one post, sez you. (New rule? Or, just a lazy American? )

In any event, don't sweat it (pun intended.) It's not being made yet. Go fill up your gas tank on me.

So ignoring the cost or how I connect the generated power, since it isn't mentioned. I take off the gray tinted UV blocking film I currently have. South facing windows make a room real hot in the summer. And switch to a gray solar collecter. Now if only the unit in the artical stayed constant. Transparent is 20watts/mm2, but red/gray better they get 9% efficiency.
