This is a rather comical situation. I would think the islanding could actually be improved dramaticaly with a smart grid system eliminating all possibility of repaiman injury. If only the people involved were as smart as the grid would be; we could utilize all renewable energy sources at their best performing times to insure maximum utilization of the miscellaneous technologies in use today and well into the future as well. This would also allow for a far lower need for storage to maintaine peark performance; while increasing the actual ammount of renewables that could replace less efficient and higher polluting systems used to maintain the baseload.
