A higher percentage in the late morning, and lower when demand peaks in the late afternoon.

So roughly what percentage of electricity is solar supplying in California around noon on a sunny day? I want to see if the US’s most solar state beats Australia’s most solar state.

Because the .85 number of for “Californian power grid” while the ~5gwatt is for all US. Yes California has about1/5th of all US PV.

How are we only generating .85 gigawatts when we have over 5 gigawatts potential?

While it’s disappointing that we aren’t up to par with Germany’s massive solar infrastructure we are definitely showing progress. One thing I don’t see in this article that I’m curious about is if there any stats on how much solar energy in megawatts that we are generating over all.
