Good plan, if they can invest in renewables and cut the consumption of oil and gas, they can save a lot of money.

After all, oil prices are responsible for this recession in EU, USA and rest of the world. Europe has made great strides in renewables. But at the same time, they should continue to build new nuclear plants since that is also a cleaner source of energy.

Sadly it appears that Europe is no longer the driving force in alternative energy. Germany-Merkel has turned away from Solar & Wind all of the feed-tariff work of Hermann Scheer lost just when it was succeeding.
Gamesa/Spain may move to other markets..which wouldn't help Spain's recovery all due to
their mortgage/housing boom that stopped in 2008.
These are the same
suppliers that spearheaded more than $69 billion of wind and
solar projects since 2004 that today supply more than 50 percent
of Spain’s power demand on the most breezy and sunny days. Spain following that by freezing all alternative energy projects for 5 yrs a death wish for all the european companies like Q-Cell, Vestas, and Gamesa.

Looks as if China may dominate this sector with massive government loans and assistance just as Germany and Spain are turning off the lights on alternative energy..Hermann Scheer would be saddened if were alive to see so much gained only to be lost.
Back to massive carbon footprints just when jobs are needed and oil is climbing..austerity isn't the answer investment in the future is. Some hope is left in Denmark.

This potentially could be helpful but the presentation needs to be separated from any patronizing concept of the sovereign ceding restricted rights over part of its territory. It would need to be seen as simple foreign direct investment.
