At the media roundtable the suggestion was offered that PVG neighbors in Hawaii were Pot growers who didn't like the intrusion. I heard the charge and countered that true or not it was not responsive to the pollution issue. To his credit, Karl Gawell, executive director of the GEA agreed. Geothermal has great potential and is a very good alternative to fossil fuels, but it is technology not magic. There are problems and they have to be solved. We won't resolve issues by either "greenwashing" or a blanket condemnation of new technology. Most importantly a technology does not have to be "perfect" to be "better."
