Can you just imagine for a second, how many green energy jobs would have been created if the fourteen and a half million dollars ($14,500,000.00) that was spent on false adds was used to fund green energy projects?
Solar Energy will dominate the market no matter what the big oil companies do, they are very aware of the danger they are in and will stop at nothing to try to prevent it...they will fail and have wasted many dollars.
Someone once said to me..."There are about 35 to 40 years of known oil reserves on the planet, there are about 55 to 70 years of known coal reserves on the planet and there are 365,000,000,000,000 years of known solar energy, I will be placing my bet on solar energy!" Where will you be placing your bet?

Oils company fabrications aside, can a green jobs economy be sustained without government subsidies. Many of the countries that served as the models for successful green jobs are now in turmoil. Spain spent huge sums of government money promoting green jobs growth. Spain hit a new record for unemployment at 24.4%. Why didn't green jobs succeed in improving Spain's economy?

http://www.boston.com/news/world/europe/articles/2012/04/27/spain_unemployment_rises_to_244_percent_in_q1/

In Germany the green jobs sectors are falling on terrible times.

Surely you can't believe that green jobs can be a panacea to the USA's economic problems. Maybe big oil is lying in their ads but there is plenty of facts based on green jobs history in other countries that indicate that they have not panned out to deliver the economic prosperity that was advertised.

Another point to consider can be found in an excellent article by Kevin Drum at Mother Jones, explaining how China has control of 97% of rare earth elements available to green and high tech industries. From an energy security standpoint, why would the USA want to become dependent on Chinese REEs for the solar cells, superconductor magnets and other components needed for green energy? The fact that China has banned REEs from being exported to the US has led several US manufacturers to open up plants in China in order to produce products that are dependent on REEs. We are fighting this in court but I see no upside even if we succeed in court.
