She lied..and so did her friend Jennifer Beatty. The Cops DID see everything. She was drinking earlier. Bones can be broken at 18 mph, even if you’re a “veteran”. Her donation website is despicable.

Of course — our veteran bicyclist and motorcyclists just fell off her bike out of the blue, and so badly that she broke several ribs, her collarbone, and pelvic bone.Cops saw nothing. Nice.

More information is coming to light. 2 LAPD officers witnessed the accident and saw NO other vehicle involved other then her wheel wobbling and then her fall.

Yeah, was hard to even know what to write. Glad Chris did most of that.
I’ve never had such encounters, or very little ones, but I was previously the director of an organization largely focused on promoting bicycling, and i heard many crazy stories from members and supporters — was shocked to hear some of the harassment bikers receive.

That’s a very shitty thing to happen. Happens too often. Moral of the story is to not remonstrate with a driver. You won’t change their opinions, just let it go. Easier said than done, I know. But self-preservation on a bike is EVERYTHING.

This is terrible news. Its difficult to write a response, but to offer no response gives the appearance of indifference. My wife is a runner and cyclist and periodically has motorists shout at her to get off the road. This is exactly the kind of event I worry about. And it happens all too often. My thoughts and sympathies go out to you, your friend, and the others who generate envy simply by being active and earth friendly.
