Sorry should not have said “GOP”. Please let me change that to those in political power or seeking it, that continue to claim we can ignore science and just do more of what we did 50 years ago.

It is a good first step.
New power plants can only emit 0.5 tons of CO2 per MWh, instead of todays average of 1.1tons for coal (.55 natural gas).

But it does leave out existing plants, unless they do a project that add 75k tons. Will we see lots of 60k ton additions?

Now if the GOP does gets it wish to shut down the EPA or at least gut it; then maybe we could talk about setting a bar for existing plants.

It may appear as if President Obama presumably lost one of their battles to promote renewable energy. However, regulations such as these demonstrate that President Obama is still getting his message across. Slowly but surely awareness from the government concerning clean, green energy is affecting our country.
