wind electricity is the cheapest option for new electricity in many or even most places.

depending on where you are, solar could be at grid parity, and certainly competes with retail electricity in many cases.

of course, this is all ignoring health externalities, which make solar & wind look even better.

Bit of a contradiction. Solar/wind electricity costs 3-5 times as much to produce as conventional power.
