Sorry, wrong company: march 2010.....Choice, an Australian consumer group, caught LG Electronics, the company with the tag line “Life’s Good,” rigging its refrigerators illegally to pass Energy Star testing. The company apparently engineered its refrigerators with an illegal device to save power during the testing!
Still it's always worth being vigilant and sceptical? (sorry for the spelling, i'm French).

Don't know anything about the veracity of Samsung, but I did check effeciency ratings for 37" TVs. (I'd been looking at them at Costco.)
Both Panasonic and Vizio have models that use significantly less electricity than do any of the Samsung models listed.

Is'nt Samsung the company that faked the performance of their refrigirator line two or three years ago in order to receive the energy Star much coveted recognition?
There is so much money to be made by blinding well intentioned credulous customers with the energy star certification, that i question myself everytime i see it endorsing a product eversince that Samsung corporate lie.
If i were a reporter, i would scrtach the varnish on this AMAZING performance from Samsung, it's not above them to fake it sometimes.
