After a completely blown-out-of-proportion battery fire issue that we’ve spent more than enough time covering (to show just how ridiculous it is that it got so much media coverage,.. ironically), GM is struggling to get its Chevy Volt into the garages of more Americans. Will a very attractive new lease for its California customers be the trigger that gets more people driving a Volt? Chris DeMorro has more:

The Volt and the Ford Focus Electric coming later in the year are LONG TERM WINNERS. They might not see huge uptake initially but as positive reviews of users build over time, the demand will accelerate

I just leased my car and once it is done in 22 months, electric/hybrid will be my choice

Agreed. The reviews so far for these cars and the Leaf have been great. The price of oil/gas isn’t going to drop off a cliff any time soon. And sooner or later, a good chunk of people are going to figure it out.

is this vehicle going to come to the UK – does anyone know?

I would love to buy a new Volt however I am stuck with my 98 park avenue . It was free from a family member. The payment on a Volt would be half of my SS disability. There is no way I can ever get another car. Sadly because I am all for cutting the oil usage in this country.

You can buy a brand new Cruze for less then 1/2 the cost of a Volt. 20K buys a lot of gas even at $5 a gallon? Even stupid people can do that math??

So you’re saying you’re stupid? We can see that John, no need to advertise the fact.
